DUI lawyer marketing

DUI lawyer marketing built around the license clock.

DUI lawyer marketing is the work of reaching a driver in the days between the arrest and the administrative deadline that costs them their license. In most states that window is about ten days, it runs separately from the criminal case, and it expires whether or not anyone told them. We build the visibility that puts your firm in front of that search: on the map, in the results, and inside the AI answer.

Why DUI lawyer marketing is its own job

The deadline is the whole marketing dynamic

A DUI arrest creates two separate legal problems, and the faster one is the one the client does not know about. The criminal charge moves at the pace of the court docket. The administrative license action moves on its own clock, and in most states the driver has roughly ten days to request a hearing before suspension happens automatically.

That produces a search pattern you do not see in other practice areas. The volume spikes overnight and on weekends. The queries are specific and frightened. Not “lawyer near me” but “refused breathalyzer what happens” and “how long do I have to request a DMV hearing”. And the decision compresses into days.

A firm that is only visible during business hours, only on generic terms, and only on page two is invisible for the entire decision window. That is the gap the program closes.

01

They search immediately, and at night

DUI search volume concentrates in the hours right after release and over weekends.Ads that run business hours only, and a profile with no after-hours call handling, both leak cases. Dayparting and call routing matter more here than in almost any other practice area.

02

They search by situation, not by service

The high-intent queries name a circumstance, not a practice area.Refusal, second offense, CDL, under 21, out-of-state, accident involved. A page per situation captures the search and gives an AI assistant something concrete to quote.

03

They compare three profiles and pick one

Most DUI clients choose from the Map Pack without ever visiting a fourth site.Rank, review count, review recency, and whether someone answers. That is the whole comparison, and all four are things we can move.

DUI situation pages

A page per situation, not one page for DUI

Most DUI firm sites have one DUI page and a contact form. It competes with every other firm in the county for the same generic term and ranks for nothing specific. Splitting it produces pages that each own a real search with real intent behind it.

First offense

The largest volume and the most frightened reader. Explains the two-track process and the deadline plainly.

Breath or blood refusal

Its own penalty scheme in most states, and a distinct, high-intent search.

Second or third offense

Higher stakes, higher case value, and a client who already knows they need a lawyer.

Commercial driver (CDL)

A livelihood case. Different thresholds, different consequences, very high retention.

Under 21

Zero-tolerance thresholds, and the searcher is often the parent rather than the driver.

Out-of-state driver

Reciprocity and appearance questions that nobody local is answering well.

Each page is written against the statutes and thresholds that actually apply in your state, then cross-linked to the county and court pages underneath it. That structure is what earns the organic rankings and the AI citations.

Proof from a traffic and DUI practice

One firm, one market, thirteen years

We have run this program for a traffic and criminal defense firm continuously since 2013. Every ranking number on this site comes from that engagement. We do not quote results we did not earn.

“For over a decade, they've kept my phone ringing and my caseload full. They're incredibly responsive and consistently keep my firm at the top of search results.”

DUI marketing questions, answered

A deadline the client does not know about. In most states an arrest starts a short administrative window, commonly around ten days, to request a hearing before the license is suspended automatically, separately from the criminal case. That single fact reshapes everything: the client is searching within hours, they are searching at night, they are frightened, and the firm that is visible and answers the phone in that window usually gets retained. Marketing built for slower practice areas misses the window entirely.

Both, in that order, if the budget allows. Ads produce calls in week one and let you buy the arrest-hour searches immediately. SEO takes three to six months to move but ends up far cheaper per case and keeps producing after you stop paying. The firms that only run ads are renting their caseload; the firms that only run SEO are invisible for the first two quarters. We usually run ads while the organic layer is built, then rebalance once rankings hold.

Yes, and it is the highest-return decision on the site. A first offense, a refusal, a second offense, a commercial license, an out-of-state driver, and an underage charge are six different searches with six different anxieties. One general DUI page competes for all of them and wins none. Separate pages let each rank on its own terms and give AI assistants something specific to cite.

Google Ads can produce calls the first week. Google Business Profile work usually shows in four to eight weeks. Organic rankings on charge-and-county searches take three to six months to move and nine to twelve to mature. Anyone promising organic DUI rankings in thirty days in a competitive metro is describing something that does not happen.

They constrain the claims, not the channels. We avoid guarantees, avoid implying a specific outcome, keep testimonials and case results inside what your jurisdiction permits, and label advertising where required. The awkward one is the license deadline: it is genuinely urgent and genuinely useful information, so we state it factually and accurately rather than as a scare tactic. Your bar's rules govern, and we build to them.

No. One firm per county. If your county is taken you will hear that on the first call.

The program starts around $1,000 a month depending on market size and competition, and that single number covers local SEO, organic SEO, AI search work, schema, monthly content, review generation, and Google Business Profile management. Websites start at $3,000 separately. Google Ads management is a separate transparent fee on top of the ad spend, which goes to Google.
